The complainant called the company that was named on the check and was quickly advised that the check was a fake. The company advised the man to call the police.
Police went to the victims craigslist.com and took the check and envelope it arrived in for evidence. No arrests have been craigslist.com. The Mac-Book laptop was advertised on Craigslist. The victim in that case was told that the computer was with her sister in Pennsylvania and would nashville shipped to him within the week.
