I'm looking to hook up my acoustic violin to my sound equipment and such, so I need a pickup. There seems to be very little reviews out there for these products, electric I was wondering if anyone had some experience in this matter? LR Baggs seem to be popular, but I don't know whats good on the lower end.

But the realist is expensive and I think it needs to be placed between the bridge, which probably means the bridge needs to be refitted, something that you would want a luthier to do. Plus it could change the sound of the violin when not amplified. I really like the fishman. I have used one with a Fishman pre-amp that I originally bought for my dobro and into an acoustic guitar amp.

Link might try the website for www. They are very knowledgeable. It's easily removed, and easily put on. You can clip it onto your chin rest. Please, no chin or shoulder rest digressions! Violin electric violin's setting will give nice but grainy sound, or rather, not focused. Fishman Hookup did give a very focus "electrified" sound. Note that many pickup will require you to alter your violin a little, mostly the bridge, Fishman V is no exception but you might be luck that the bridge's wing slot is large enough to slot in the piezo piece.
Electric, for acoustic playing, the Realist dampens the instrument more. The DPA sounds fantastic, truest hookup violin tone, but for loud music, won't give as much gain.
