My previous dryer died steam. It's not even 5 years old, but our Samsung DVAEG has already been fixed a few times and finally it just died on the weekend. So, I bought a new dryer today. It has a Refresh function as well as a Wrinkle release function, both of which use water. Should Samsung even bother hooking up the water to use these features? I didn't actually specifically look for a dryer with these, but there was a clearance model that was inexpensive and which actually was the right colour to nearly match my existing washing machine, so I bought dryer.
How well does it "hookup" for you? It came with a brass "Y" split connector and a rubber connecting hose. If I do hook it up though, should I get a connector with a valve, and only turn on the valve when I need the steam function?
Also, I'm thinking I'm better off getting a metal braided hose. Which reminds me: I bought metal braided hoses for my washing machine, which came with rubber hoses. Is there any trick to attaching these? Is it OK just to tighten by hand? Is there any risk of over tightening?

About five years ago my twenty five year old set died at the cottage, so I moved my six year old Kenmores there, and bought new Kenmores for the house The new dryer has a steam function, but never hooked it up, probably just another thing that might go wrong, it works perfectly fine. I do have opinions, and readily share them! The steam works great to remove wrinkles. You might not need to iron ever again. I use it to remove wrinkles after shirt is dry. Wow, I'm shocked you bought another Samsung. If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

I hooked mine up. Samsung works pretty well. Beats tossing a wet towel in to remove hookup. Do you not have anything else to do rather than argue with strangers on the internet.
Ok, I'll hook up the water up and give those features a try. We have a LG Dryer with Steam, however no need for water hookup its a compartment adam4eve site pull out and fill up every so often. We use it on dryer load, usually for use of reducing static when drying, we dont use dryer with.
Haven't ironed in years. My motto is "if a few minutes in the dryer with a see more towel doesn't sort out the wrinkles - then I don't need to own it". We use the steam function on our gas dryer all the time.

You can buy a Y hose splitter. My dryer with steam feature came with one. I mainly steam my winter coats as it does a good job removing odours smoke, curry etc. It requires being hooked up to a water with I assume for the steam feature.
