The author was more concerned with sociological issues than anything else. This is touchy subject matter anyway you look at it. I applaud the author for tackling the subject. I think the author did a good job of not pulling any punches despite the negativity that was surely anticipated. The book makes certain generalizations. There is no way to avoid that.

It is universally understood that everyone is different and not every statement will accurately apply to every individual. That being said, if you are a white man interested in dating a black woman I think this book will offer some very helpful insights.

It will at least make you ponder why you've perhaps never approached the beautiful black women that cross your path as you might women of your same race. I am not a white man woman in dating a black woman. I am a black woman who is currently married to a white man. However, the author contradicts himself by making his own generalizations, supporting hurtful stereotypes, and stating disrespectful things about people in the book. I also wonder if many of the premises shared in dating book are as they are because the author's perspectives are taken from mostly only dating White men, whom he directly quotes throughout the book.

I also recommend having conversations about all these white with White and Black men and women.
