Because its a long trip we plan to stay somewhere just overnight, maybe from around 11pm to 9 am.
First we thought about Walmart SC but if we can't use the levelers and slide out we can not use our Apologise, deana martin dating game necessary. So we thought about Pilot Flying j's RV parking. Horsedoc Explorer II. Truck stops generally are pretty loud. FJs usually have RV parking away from the truck parking read article still it can be pretty loud for a light sleeper. It can be done however. WalMarts are OK but depends on locations since rednecks like to blowhorns while sitting next to you and then drive off.
Not because we were cheap, but it was late and we did not have a location of a CG close. Best ever was a Cabelas in Mitchell SD. Whatever you do, make sure your towed is locked as well as the compartments on the coach and especially the entrance door.
I tell my kids to never open up for any one until they show who they are and they had better be law enforcement with fully visible patrol car and in uniform. There are some nasty, hookups people out on the road. When our trip requires over night stays we always use a Walmart or FlyingJ. We just ask the flying service desk where to park in Walmart.
As mentioned above we split the lanes and put out two slides. We have never had to extend the levelers. We have never encountered any problems in all the years we have traveled in either place. I've never had an issue though the truck engines are a bit loud at times. My camper is fully accessible with the slide in so it's not a problem for my family. They deserve peace and quiet. And yes we are on a schedule because we will have a celebration and we hookups start before flying because of my husbands work. So we think Walmart is the best choice. Thanks again everybody for the valuable input!! We hookups stayed at many WalMart's and truck stops. When we stayed at the truck stops both my wife and I had no problems with the noise where the rv parks.
I am a light sleeper and the noise did not bother me. At Walmart we split the parking lanes and put two of our four slides out. We asked Walmart and they had no problems with it. Walmart lots are almost level and we have had no problems extending or retracting our slides. I have never had to put my levelers down.
I'm a light sleeper, and prefer a WalMart over a truck stop. Even if you park near the restaurant portion of a Flying J, you still could catch a drunken brawl at 2 AM like we did once Too many critters on the road after dark Ed, Deb, and 2 dogs Looking for a small Class C! Sometimes the answer depends on the unit. Very sad! Unfortunately using levelers is about the only legitimate "rule" on the list of "Wal Mart rules".

On a hot day the feet could punch holes or leave divots in the asphalt. Probably not a learn more here this time of year, but there ya have it! Suppose you could flying plywood pads,you should probably have some any way.

The key is to park early and on the edge nearest to the main business before and the choices are many. Most any large truck stop is ok.
