It's not even 5 years old, but our Samsung DVAEG has already steam fixed a few times and finally it just died on the weekend. So, I bought a new dryer today. It has a Refresh function as well as a Wrinkle release function, both of which use water.

I didn't actually specifically look for a dryer with these, but there was a clearance model that was inexpensive and which actually was the right colour to nearly match my existing washing machine, so I bought it. How well does it work for you? It came with a brass "Y" split connector and a rubber connecting hose. If I do hook it up though, should I get a connector with a valve, and only turn on the valve when Hookup need the steam function?

Also, I'm thinking I'm better off getting a metal braided hose. Which hookup me: I bought metal braided hoses for my washing machine, which came with rubber hoses. Is there hookup trick to attaching these? Is it OK just to tighten by hand? Is there any risk of over tightening?
